We
thought a character for our blog, some Gabrielino that influenced
politics in Ecuador, and has left a great impression on her.
Well
maybe if we all speak about José María Velasco Ibarra but it really
important to write about one of the greatest political minds that the
twentieth century tube.
Jose
Maria, who as a child never attended any school and since the age of 16
suffered the loss of his father, continued his studies at the Colegio
San Gabriel and study law at the Universidad Central del Ecuador.
His
political life began in 1932 when he was appointed deputy republic,
oddly enough the next day he was named vice president of the Chamber of
Deputies, and the next president.
His
great oratory which my father told me when we talked about former
presidents of Ecuador, told me that falling in love was so poor as in
1933 he ran for president and reached the most votes in history almost
(80% of all Ecuadorians) .
Surely
a controversial figure only once finished his four-year term, the other
four presidencies were overthrown by military coup and forced to go to
exile.
But
his works were very extensive, I think the Supreme Electoral Tribunal,
tube notable significance in roads, hospitals and bridges.
Enacted
the weekly rest for workers and private employees, ordered the
construction of irrigation canals, school infrastructure, airfields,
roads, etc..
His most momentous work on having the "freedom electotal, academic freedom and religious freedom."
